On June 13, 2026, Philadelphia's historic Cherry Street Pier became a vibrant gathering place for culture, faith, education, music, and community as the 33rd Annual Islamic Heritage Festival welcomed thousands of attendees for an unforgettable day along the Delaware River waterfront.

Presented by the ICPIC New Africa Center as part of the PECO Multicultural Series, this year's festival embraced the theme "Unity in Diversity," bringing together people of all backgrounds to celebrate the rich heritage, contributions, and future of Philadelphia's Muslim communities.

As a proud Philadelphia native, community advocate, and host representing In Da Streets Radio, it was an incredible honor to guide attendees through a day filled with inspiration, learning, entertainment, and meaningful connection in one of the city's most iconic venues.

A Celebration Rooted in Community

The Islamic Heritage Festival has become one of Philadelphia's premier multicultural events, creating opportunities for residents and visitors alike to experience the beauty of Islamic traditions while fostering understanding, respect, and collaboration across cultures.

Throughout the day, families explored educational exhibits, community resources, cultural displays, local businesses, youth activities, and live performances while enjoying the stunning backdrop of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge and Delaware River.

One of the most memorable highlights of the day was the presentation by the Masjidullah Jawala Scout Troops Al Haqq and Sabiqun.

Their demonstration showcased discipline, leadership, teamwork, service, and character development while highlighting the positive impact youth organizations have on future generations.

The scouts embodied the festival's commitment to empowering young people and demonstrated the values of responsibility, excellence, and community engagement.

The Youth & Young Adult STEAM Area proved to be one of the festival's most popular attractions, offering hands-on experiences designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and innovation.
