There are organizations that serve their communities—and then there are movements built from love, grit, and genuine care. The Empowerment Zone DELCO is the latter: a grassroots nonprofit in Delaware County, PA that is redefining service, support, and empowerment for youth, families, seniors, and neighbors in need.
At Inspire Da Streets, we are intentional about spotlighting organizations doing the work from the heart, and leaders who don’t just lead from a title—but from lived commitment. The Empowerment Zone DELCO and its founder, Ms. Felecia Coffee, embody exactly that.
A Mission Rooted in Heart and Action
Founded in 2011 in Collingdale, The Empowerment Zone DELCO was created to be more than a nonprofit—it was created to be a lifeline. Its mission is clear and unwavering: to uplift youth, serve families, support seniors, and create pathways to empowerment by providing real resources and real support when people need it most.
This organization operates from within the community—meeting people where they are, responding to urgent needs, and building trust through consistency and compassion.
Programs That Meet Real Needs
The Empowerment Zone DELCO’s impact is both deep and wide:
24-Hour Emergency Food Cupboard – the only one of its kind in Pennsylvania
Youth Education & Mentorship Programs
Monthly Volunteer Service Days
Seasonal Outreach & Holiday Initiatives
Each program restores more than resources—it restores hope, dignity, and belonging.
Leadership That Lives the Work
At the heart of The Empowerment Zone DELCO is Ms. Felecia Coffee, a leader whose service is rooted in humility, faith, and action.
We don’t say this lightly—we have had the opportunity to work side by side with Ms. Coffee, and she is truly the definition of a Good Samaritan. She shows up without hesitation, serves without expectation, and leads with a heart that puts people first every single time.
As Inspire Da Streets shared directly:
“Working alongside Ms. Felecia Coffee showed us what true service looks like. She doesn’t just lead a nonprofit—she lives the mission every day. She is the kind of leader communities are built on.”— Inspire Da Streets
That kind of leadership cannot be taught. It is lived.
Inspire Da Streets Salutes a Community Champion
To Ms. Coffee, the volunteers, and everyone connected to The Empowerment Zone DELCO—we honor your work. You are proof that when leadership is rooted in love and consistency, entire communities rise.
